The Best Netflix Thrillers

October or not, it’s always a good time for an edge-of-your-seat cinema experience. Here are some of my all-time favorites on Netflix:

  • Hush
    • Hush was the first thriller movie I ever saw. I loved it to the point where I forced everyone at my 17th birthday party to watch it. Even the horror haters ended up enjoying the film. The basic premise is about a deaf and mute woman (Kate Siegel) who lives alone in the woods. A masked intruder is after her, playing games with her from right outside her house.

  • Talaash
    • Talaash is a Bollywood film that incorporates murder mystery, supernatural incidents, and a touching family history. A police officer (Aamir Khan) solves a murder incident, ultimately leading him to closure about his own son’s death and the power of the paranormal. It’s an exciting thriller with the most unexpected twists that will have you thinking for days.
Talaash (L-R). Kareena Kapoor as Rosie, Aamir Khan as Surjan “Suri” Singh Shekhawat

  • Hypnotic
    • The immense power of hypnotism comes with even greater responsibility. When in the wrong hands, things can go haywire pretty fast. A divorced wife (Kate Siegel) works with a professional hypnotist (Jason O’Mara) to heal and grow. After mind-bending hypnotic experiences, she uncovers the deadly past of her hypnotist, leading her to find the truth through a series of deceptive life-and-death horrors. I can guarantee this film will make you question whether you live in an illusion.

  • Intrusion
    • A couple moves into their isolated, self-built dream home and is excited to create endless memories here. However, after coming home from date night, their enthusiasm shatters after finding someone broke into their home. The horrific truth behind the house and the couple’s marriage unveils through a series of haunting events. Trust me; this movie will have you scared to walk in your own home.
Intrusion (L-R). Logan Marshall-Green as Henry Parsons, Freida Pinot as Meera Parsons

  • The Conjuring
    • This chilling classic incorporates demonic haunting, spiritual practices, and ghost possession through the story of the Perron family. Once they discover suspicious activity in the house, the Perrons invite legendary demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) to reveal the devilish situation of the house’s history and previous occupants. Conjuring is a movie you don’t want to watch alone unless you enjoy not sleeping at night!

  • Stree
    • This comedy, yet ghostly Bollywood film takes place in a village where an angry spirit kidnaps men at night using irresistible trap tactics. A lady’s clothing tailor Vicky (Rajkummar Rao), partners with a woman (Shraddha Kapoor) to uncover and defeat this mighty ghost by setting up a wedding scene to attract her. They harness the power of love and ancestral knowledge to overcome this evil soul.

So, which movie will you be watching from behind the sheet covers tonight? Please keep me posted in the comments below!
