A common experience we all have is feeling unproductive and not sure what our next step should be. This comes with feeling disorganized, lazy, undisciplined, and self-hatred. I’ve been there more times than I can count and I understand how frustrating it is.
The quickest what I’ve been able to pick myself up, get back into the flow state, and feel composed again is asking myself a very simple question:
What would the best version of me do right now?
This simple inquiry forces me to be brutally honest with myself about my choices and actions. As a result, I am pushed to do the tasks I’m avoiding and practice discipline.
This question immediately makes me feel like scrolling on Instagram is a waste of time and helps me refocus on my goals. I show myself the power of taking action and how that drives me to sustain a flow state for work. Even taking a break from my work feels more natural, well-deserved, and balanced!
